It's the "beginner checkmate". I did it a lot of time during online game against beginners. Most player will see it, but you can use it as a threat. It currently happens at the 4 or 5 move... If the pawns on the f and g colomn have moved and the king can not escape, you can check mate him with your queen. 1. g4 e5 2. f4 D h4 Virtual chessboard: Chess Titan (only work for Vista)
